FARNHAM SCHOOL TEACHERS STUDENTS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS

FARNHAM SCHOOL TEACHES CHILDREN ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS - December 1, 2019
Article in Farnham Herald, pupils at Rowledge Primary School took a break from their normal routine as they were visited by Holistic Healthcare, a company run by Sophie Kirk, specializing in an abundance of holistic therapies.

In November 2019, Noreen joined a team of 35 wellness experts and set off to Rowledge Primary School in Farnham, England for an interactive book reading of Look, Listen, Love. It was clear from the feedback of the students (a class of 30 ten-year-olds) that the idea of using animals to teach self-love and self-regulation was a success!

Headteacher Sarah Oliver praised the event, saying:

Children need to know strategies for managing their feelings and the pressures of modern living. There are many children in primary schools who are already developing the early signs of having mental health difficulties. The earlier we can support them in finding ways to manage these things the better chance they have of developing their resilience.
