About Photo 1.jpg

Noreen O’Sullivan is a teacher, storyteller, author, educational consultant, speaker, equine-assisted emotional guide, wife, and mother.

A native New Yorker, Noreen moved to Europe in the mid-1990s after meeting her husband Lars from Denmark, where they live, and have raised their family of three girls, their dog (Moon), and their horse (Bear).

For many years, Noreen taught preschool and kindergarten in Manhattan at The Episcopal School, followed by several years at Planet Kids and grade school at the Engelska Skolan in Stockholm. In between animal-assisted workshops and sessions, Noreen continues to work as a substitute teacher in the Learning Support Department at the Copenhagen International School in Denmark.

She earned her B.A. in English and Art from State University of New York - Albany, followed by graduate studies in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College, NYC. She is published by Hachette- Jessica Kinglsey Publishers for her children’s book “I’ll Tell You Why...I Can’t Wear Those Clothes! (Talking about Tactile Defensiveness)”.

Noreen is particularly passionate about the understanding, acceptance, and parenting of children with emotional issues, developmental delays, and sensory issues. She has an in-depth understanding of children, and an extraordinary ability to connect with them and with their parents, helping to bridge the gap of understanding parents often face when raising a child with emotional issues.  Noreen is trained in the Natural Lifemanship model of equine-assisted relationship-building therapy, as well as a certified (U.K.’s Karl Dawson) Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner.
